Almost here: Five-Star January Refresh
CMS refreshes the staffing data of the Five-Star Ratings report every three months, and the latest update is right around the corner. PBJ data for July 2024 – September 2024 was due in November and should be reflected in the January Five-Star Ratings report and in Care Compare later this month.
While no major changes to the calculations are expected, it will be only the third refresh that contains CMS’ updated PDPM Case-Mix HRD calculations.
SimplePBJ Tip: You Can Submit PBJ Files for Multiple Facilities at Once
Enterprise SimplePBJ users can take advantage of our simplified workflow by selecting “Show Reports for All Facilities” in the Send to CMS section of SimplePBJ. Then, any files that have been successfully created can be selected and submitted to CMS with one click.

Important! If you have not created a NetsmartCONNECT account yet, check out the training video and other resources here: NetsmartCONNECT for Simple clients. This user portal is the only way to see support case updates, so creating an account ahead of the PBJ deadline can help you save time. We will also review this new process in our quarterly PBJ webinar (register below).
Time marches on: Updated look-back period
Five-Star Reports for January, February, and March 2025 will use the look-back period of April 2023 – September 2024 for PBJ turnover calculations.
