What You Need to Know Before the May Deadline
A consistent rhythm can be an important strategy for organizational success. And when it comes to PBJ best practices – whether your PBJ routines are daily, weekly, monthly, or even quarterly – it’s important to keep an eye on the bigger picture of PBJ requirements. Here are some reminders for the May submission deadline:
- PBJ accuracy remains paramount – find the time to make sure your staffing data is complete and correct.
- The maximum amount of hours per day that can be submitted for a staff member is now 22.5 (to allow for required meal breaks)
- Remember to work with your MDS team to make sure your facility’s CMS census is accurate
- Don’t forget to include key contract hours, like Medical Director
- Be sure to reconcile weekend staffing hours with nursing schedules to ensure accuracy and to avoid missing reportable hours
- Avoid any CMS’ system issues by submitting your file now – do not wait for the last few days to submit!
